Surrounded by water, Cyprus as you might very well imagine has an affiliation with boating and sailing that stretches back many decades.  You can sail along the beautiful coastline or anchor in a secluded cove inaccessible by land.

Spend a day out deep sea fishing, go on a sunset cruise with your loved one, or just take it easy and relax.

Two marinas, five ports and numerous bays provide shelter and essentials. Larnaca marina accommodates room for 450 and a motley yachting community from all over the world and it is a popular place where those living on board can spend the winter in the Mediterranean.

St Raphael Marina at Limassol is the only other marina in Cyprus. From here a similar array of boating and sailing activities are available for you to enjoy. If you are sailing your own vessel into either marina it is worth noting that to acquire a berth you will need to make a booking in advance of your arrival.

Plans are underway for the development of three new Marinas, one in Ayia Napa, one in Limassol and a third one in Paphos.

If you may prefer you can have your boat placed on a trolley and keep it in specialist boat parking areas operated by private enterprises. Few such places exist in Ayia Napa, Dhekelia and Limassol.

Boat Dealerships have increased sharply during the last 3-4 years. A number of world renowned brands may be found on the island both for boats and yatchs. As it concerns outboards all major makes are represented. Buying a boat is a matter of your personal needs and preferences as well as a matter of Budget. Prior to making your final decision it may be worth the time to visit a number of dealers to get an idea of what is available and how well it will meet your specific needs and wants. You may also enquire on warranties on the hull, the outboard engines, spare part availability and cost, support in terms of servicing. Buying a boat may as well cost in excess of Euros 20,000 therefore if you are told that service is provided ask to see at least the workshop and meet the chief mechanic and enquire about his credentials, expertise and know-how.
